BIRMINGHAM, AL – March 19, 2025 – The Randolph boys’ golf team delivered a strong performance at the Bradley Johnson Memorial Tournament, finishing 8th out of 16 teams with a total score of +37. The tournament was played at the Founders Course at Greystone Golf & Country Club, the same venue that hosts the PGA Champions Tour’s Regions Tradition, providing a championship-caliber test for the state’s top high school golfers.



Senior Andrew Hinson led the way with a dominant victory in the individual competition, firing rounds of 68 and 66 (-10) to win by four strokes. Hinson, who is committed to play collegiately at the University of Alabama, demonstrated precision and control throughout the event, setting himself apart in a highly competitive field.

Looking Ahead:



Randolph will be back in action on Thursday, March 27, in a match against Huntsville High at The Ledges. The team will then compete in the Grissom Invitational on March 31 and the Panther Invitational on April 1, as they continue to refine their game ahead of postseason play.



Volunteer Assistant Coach Matthew Schmitz praised the team’s effort and resilience in a tough field.



“This was a great test for our guys, and they battled on a challenging course against some of the best teams in the state,” said Schmitz. “Colton played very well, Wilson and Ben fought through tough conditions showed great promise, and Reese gained valuable experience that will help him moving forward. It was a complete team effort, and I’m proud of the way they represented Randolph. And as for Andrew—he made a statement that he IS the best junior golfer in the state of Alabama.”
