Randolph School is proud to announce the appointment of David Garrison as the new Head Coach of the Raiders Boys' Golf program.

Garrison brings a decorated coaching background to the role, currently serving as Head Middle School Boys Basketball coach at Randolph. He also recently served as Head Varsity Girls' and Boys' Tennis coach, guiding those programs to six Sectional Titles and two individual State Titles. Prior to joining Randolph, Garrison spent time as the Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at Yorktown High School in Virginia, where he was named Coach of the Year.

"We are excited to have a quality coach and high charter person in David Garrsion to lead our golf program. David exemplifies the Randolph Way and its core values in all does as a coach and teacher." said Mike Morris, Randolph School Athletic Director.

Garrison shared his excitement about taking on the new role:

"I wanted to pursue the boys golf position because it is an opportunity to be part of a great program with a strong tradition," Garrison said. "I'm excited about the chance to work with dedicated student-athletes and supportive families while helping continue the program's success. Building meaningful relationships and creating a positive team culture are some of the most rewarding parts of coaching."

When asked about his coaching philosophy, Garrison emphasized development beyond the scorecard.

"My coaching philosophy is centered on helping students grow both as competitors and as young men," he said. "I believe in teaching discipline, accountability, perseverance, and sportsmanship while creating an environment where players are challenged to reach their full potential. Success is measured not only by wins and scores, but by the character and confidence our players develop along the way."

For students considering joining the program, Garrison's advice is simple.

"Get out and play," Garrison said. "The best way to improve and develop a love for the game is to spend time on the golf course. Whether you're an experienced player or just getting started, our program will encourage you to work hard, enjoy the process, and become the best golfer — and teammate — you can be."

Coach Garrison is looking forward to getting started with the golf team. He plans to reach out to families in the coming weeks with the season set to start in mid-to late January. If any student is interested in signing up to join the boys’ golf team, they are encouraged to fill out the registration form in the link below. They may also reach out to Coach Garrison by emailing him at dgarrison@randolphschool.net.

Morris and Garrison will be working together to add one or two assistant coaches soon from the golfing world to complete our boys’ golf staff in the coming weeks.
