The Randolph Raiders are ready to make waves as they compete in the AHSAA 1A-5A State Swim Meet this Friday and Saturday, November 22-23, at the Huntsville Aquatic Center (HAC). Led by Head Coach Stephanie Beddingfield, the Raiders' state qualifiers are poised to leave their mark in individual and relay events, with several athletes vying for podium finishes and even state titles.
The meet will showcase top swimmers from across Alabama, and Randolph’s contingent is determined to shine on their home turf. With several athletes seeded first in their events and strong relay teams expected to podium, excitement is high for the Raiders.
Meet the State Qualifiers
Abby Banks: Competing in the 200 IM and 100 Backstroke, Abby is the swimmer to watch. Seeded first in both events, she’s aiming to set new school records and take home state titles.
Andrew Derrick: A standout in the 100 Backstroke, Andrew is seeded fifth and looking to climb the rankings.
Austin Shadinger: Dominating the 500 Freestyle, Austin’s current times place him as the favorite to win this event.
Judd Lunsford: Competing in the 200 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke, Judd is seeded first in both events and has a strong shot at dual state titles.
Reagan Earls: In the 100 Freestyle, Reagan enters seeded fifth, ready to challenge for a top spot.

“We’ve worked hard all season for this,” said Coach Beddingfield. “Our swimmers are peaking at the right time, and we’re excited to compete against the best in the state. I’m confident our athletes will rise to the occasion.”
Schedule and Venue Details
The Huntsville Aquatic Center (2213 Drake Avenue) will host the preliminaries each morning at 9:30 AM and the finals at 6:00 PM. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Raiders as they aim to bring home hardware. Parking is free, but attendees should plan accordingly and park only in designated areas.

With top seeds and podium aspirations, the Raiders have the potential for their best state meet yet. Abby Banks and Austin Shadinger are eyeing individual titles, while relay teams have a strong chance of medaling.
