The stage is set for a historic moment at Randolph as the Raiders Wrestling team hosts their first-ever home match tomorrow evening. Under the leadership of Boys Head Coach Matt Stroe and Girls Head Coach Brytt Davidson, the wrestling program has seen an incredible transformation. Just two years ago, the program did not even compete, but now it boasts a roster of over 30 student-athletes spanning grades 7-12.
“This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our coaches and athletes,” said Coach Stroe. “We’ve come a long way, and hosting a match at home is a huge step forward for our program.”
On the girls’ side, junior Sofie Bynum will lead the charge. Sofie made history as the first female wrestler to compete for Randolph and is coming off an impressive season with 11 wins and Top 5 finishes in four different invitationals. She is ready to build on her success as she leads the girls against 7A powerhouse Huntsville High.
For the boys, Will Crocker is the athlete to watch. After an 11-win season that saw him qualify for state, Will is poised to lead the Raiders in a competitive tri-match against ASCTE and Huntsville High.
Make plans to join us for this milestone event! The action kicks off at 5:00 PM in the Shields-Jones Athletic Complex. Come out, show your Raider pride, and cheer on our wrestlers as they make history on the mat!
