At Randolph School, school spirit and leadership come alive through the tireless efforts of students like Senior SGA President, Abigail Still. A true embodiment of Raider pride, Abigail plays a pivotal role in energizing the Rowdy Raiders cheering section, rallying the student body to support their fellow athletes at pep rallies, games and throughout out various events. Known for her enthusiasm and ability to unite her classmates, Abigail has become a key figure in helping shape the culture of Randolph Athletics. She’s also a multi-sport athlete, competing in both Swim & Dive and the Girls Soccer program.
Abigail’s passion for leadership shines through in her goals as SGA President. “My main goals include bringing the community together, spreading the values that leadership entails, and making sure SGA provides an environment for students to have their best year yet,” she explains. She is equally driven in uniting school spirit, aiming to spread positivity and support for all sports programs at Randolph. With a focus on growth in both leadership and spirit, Abigail is determined to leave a lasting impact.
As a dedicated athlete, Abigail splits her time between soccer and swimming. “I love soccer because it has brought me some of my best friends and valuable relationships I will never forget,” she says. Soccer has taught her the importance of teamwork and resilience, while swimming has allowed her to connect with athletes across different grades. “I still remember the senior girls who led the team when I was in 7th grade,” she recalls, emphasizing the strong community that the sport provides.
Balancing the demands of SGA, athletics, and academics is no easy task, but Abigail manages it with grace. “Staying organized and staying on top of things works best for me,” she shares. She credits her success to the strong support system around her, including fellow student leaders and coaches. “Working with a group of people is always so much better and more successful than working by yourself.”
One of Abigail’s proudest accomplishments has been her role in leading the Rowdy Raiders. “I could never do it alone! I have so many good people working with me,” she says, expressing gratitude for the collaboration between students and faculty, like Coach Morris. She notes that the energy on the field or court starts with the athletes, who inspire the student section’s enthusiasm. Her favorite memory as an athlete? Winning the Swim and Dive State Championship in 2021, where the team’s camaraderie and hard work culminated in an unforgettable celebration.
Abigail credits several coaches and teachers for shaping her into the leader she is today. Her soccer coach, Coach Shivers, has been a source of inspiration both on and off the field. “He coaches in a way that is kind, while also pushing us to be our best selves,” she notes. Similarly, Coach Stephanie Beddingfield of the swim team has been a constant source of encouragement, while Mr. Raiford, the SGA sponsor, has always supported her ideas and leadership journey.
As a senior, Abigail hopes to leave a legacy of hard work, leadership, and positivity. Her advice to underclassmen? “Just go for it! The hardest thing for me was putting myself out there, but once I did, it became so rewarding.” Whether through sports, leadership, or school spirit, Abigail continues to inspire those around her with her undeniable dedication to the Randolph community.
Randolph Athletics THANKS Abigail for all of her continued contributions to Raider Nation!
