The Randolph Raiders Girls Cross Country teams had an outstanding start to their 2024 season at the “Bob Jones First Chance Friendly 2 Miler” in Madison, Alabama. Competing under unseasonably pleasant conditions, the Raiders delivered impressive performances across both varsity and junior varsity levels.

Varsity Girls

The Varsity Girls’ 2-mile race saw Anna Ragsdale leading the charge with a remarkable 2nd-place finish, clocking in at 12:21. Meredith Walker and Lucy Zhang also made notable contributions, finishing within the top 10 and receiving awards for their performances. The Varsity Girls team triumphed with a first-place finish, thanks to their cohesive and strong running. Miriam Tidwell and Lily Shah completed the top five for Randolph.

Junior Varsity Girls

The Junior Varsity Girls continued the Raiders' success by finishing 2nd overall and securing a team trophy. Bob Jones took the top spot with a perfect 15 points, while Randolph scored 50 points. Mia Shah led the team with a 12th-place finish in 15:56. Supporting her were Haley Israel, Lily Pfitzer, Kate Berkholtz, and Katie Cofield.

The Raiders are set to continue their competitive season at the “City Auto Memphis Twilight Invitational” on August 31 in Memphis, Tennessee. The meet will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with the Middle School Girls. Keep up with the team’s progress and see more highlights on social media: Instagram & X: RRaidersCC.
