The Randolph Raiders continued their 2023 Cross Country season on October 18th with the Huntsville Metro Cross Country Championships at Palmer Park in Madison, AL. About 15 schools from around Madison County gathered to compete on the same course that will be used on our upcoming AHSAA Sectionals Championship course. Randolph began their day with the Girls and Boys B Team races which were followed by the Varsity races. This was a great meet to compete against all of our local rivals and Randolph had a great showing!

In the Varsity Girls’ race, the Raiders had a total of 114 points placing 5th just behind rival JPII. Anna Ragsdale led the Raiders across the line in 4th place with a time of 19:51 receiving a medal. Rounding out the top five were Meredith Walker, Rachna Ghanta, Julia Jennings, and Parmida Amiri. There were 57 runners in total.

The final race of the day the Varsity Boys’ team had a total of 135 points placing 5th but just a few points away from 3rd place in a tight race. 6A rival JP2 finished just 2 points ahead of our Raiders! Evan Shields led the Raiders across the line in 6th place with a time of 16:23 receiving a t-shirt and a medal. Wright McManus also earned a t-shirt placing 15th. Rounding out the top five were Jasper Howse, Wick Pfitzer, and Nate Schamban. There were 82 runners in total.
