The Raiders bowling season came to an end with a victory over ASCTE, closing a competitive and successful year. Throughout the season, both the boys’ and girls’ teams earned spots in the Alabama High School Coaches Poll, which is voted on by coaches across the state.
The boys team climbed as high as 16th out of 44 teams statewide, while the girls team reached as high as 12th out of 33 teams competing in the 1A–5A classification. Both squads faced strong competition week after week in what proved to be the toughest region in the state.
The teams were led by seniors Sarah Heard, Katherine Heard, Newsha Niakossary, Anne Fowlkes Schreeder, Haze Emerson, Greyden Kutner, and Noble Ligon. Over the course of the season, every bowler continued to improve, setting personal records and demonstrating consistent growth from week to week.
The Raiders distinguished themselves with their energy and sportsmanship. Several parents from opposing teams commented that the Raiders showed more enthusiasm than any team they bowled against this season. With a strong group of athletes returning next year, the future of Raiders bowling looks very bright.
