The Randolph Raiders Boys Soccer team enters the 2025 season with high expectations and a hunger to make history. With 10 seniors, the largest senior class in program history, the Raiders are primed for a deep postseason run fueled by leadership, talent, and unfinished business.
Led by captains George Dupres and Henry Green, this veteran squad is determined to build on past successes and push beyond the barrier that has halted them in recent years—a one-goal defeat to Fort Payne in the third round of the playoffs, a pattern that’s persisted for six straight seasons. This year, the mission is clear: break through to the Final Four and compete for a State Championship.
Key Players to Watch:
Tyler DeOrio returns for his fifth varsity season, aiming to cap off an outstanding career with a championship push.
Adison Dube, last year’s leading goal scorer, is back to spearhead the attack.
Desmond Stearns, Tristan Morse, Jack Servick, and George Smith look to elevate their games after breakout performances last season, adding depth and experience across the field.
Reid Werdehoff (So.) brings flair and composure to the midfield, controlling tempo and creating opportunities.
Josh Valtos (So.) steps into a full-time starting role, expected to be a key contributor with his versatility and work rate.
Carter Freeman (So.) takes over in goal, embracing the challenge of being the last line of defense for a team with title aspirations.
New Area, Familiar Foes:
The Raiders face a fresh area schedule this season, featuring cross-town rivals Hazel Green and Buckhorn—two programs Randolph has edged out in dramatic playoff matches the past two years.
A Gauntlet of a Schedule:
Randolph kicks off with a challenging slate, including matchups against powerhouse programs Grissom and Huntsville, as well as the Lakeshore Tournament in Birmingham, where they’ll face several of the state’s top teams. The Raiders’ schedule features three of last year’s five state champions, providing the perfect preparation for the postseason grind.
Season Opener:
The journey begins Thursday night vs. Grissom at SportsMed Field.
JV at 5:00 PM | Varsity at 7:00 PM
Raider Nation, get ready—it’s going to be a thrilling ride.
