On Tuesday, November 19th, it was a proud day for Randolph Athletics as we celebrate Katelyn Valtos signing her National Letter of Intent to compete in Track & Field at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Katelyn’s dedication, talent, and leadership have not only earned her a spot at the collegiate level but have also left an indelible mark on the Randolph Track & Field program.

2024 Indoor Track & Field MVP
400m PR: 1:04.74
800m PR: 2:25.73
1600m PR: 5:58.39
4x800m Relay State Champion (2022)
All-State for 800m (Indoor & Outdoor) in 2024
All-State for 4x800m Relay in 2024
National Merit Semifinalist (Class of 2025)
Randolph Head Track & Field Coach, Brianna Huff, reflected on Katelyn’s contributions to the program, saying, “Katelyn’s work ethic and determination have been a cornerstone of our team’s success. Her leadership on and off the track has inspired her teammates and set a standard for future Raiders. Competing at UAB is a testament to her dedication, and I am thrilled to see what she will accomplish as a Blazer.”
UAB Assistant Track & Field Coach, Travis Pope, expressed his enthusiasm about Katelyn joining the Blazers, stating, “We are excited to have Katelyn a part of our team. She will help bolster our middle-distance group. Katelyn is a smart, young athlete with a lot of upside. We are looking forward to having her compete as a Blazer!”
