RAIDERS SOFTBALL SEASON IN REVIEW

Raiders Softball Season In Review

RANDOLPH ATHLETICS

Michael Cagle | 5/6/2024

The Raiders Softball season may have come to an end, but there were improvements made that will lay the foundation of this program for years to come. With no Seniors on this year’s team, the future looks to be in good hands with returning juniors; Eliza McCrary, Madison Moore, Ryann Bulger, Gracie Vanek, and Lily Kate Swoboda.

One of the more noticeable improvements came on the offensive end for the Raiders. The Raiders were able to raise their overall batting average by 48 and increase their on-base percentage by 72 points.

The hard work that the team put in with Coach Gaunt and the coaches on the field was paramount in making those improvements.

Every girl played a key role this year to begin the rebuilding process of Randolph Raider Softball. Maddox Killingsworth, Sofie Bynum, Vieve Burgland, and Hunter Ray played multiple positions throughout the season. Caroline Levert and Ellie Sinclair each contributed in the outfield and showed tremendous improvement as the season progressed.

Coach Cagle had this to say about the season, “we showed a lot of growth and maturity this season. Things weren’t always easy, but we always found a way to push through that adversity and continued to improve. We were able to turn a triple play in the win against Woodville earlier this season. We will continue to work hard in an effort to rebuild our program. I am excited to see where these girls take us over the next few years.”
