Randolph School is excited to announce Mike Morris as the new Director of Athletics. Mike is an integral part of the Randolph community, having served as the Upper School Dean of Student Culture for the past four years. Mike is also currently serving as our Head Golf Coach and was the Head Boys’ Basketball Coach from 2019-2022.
Bringing with him 28 years of collegiate coaching experience, including a notable tenure as the Head Coach of the NCAA Division I women’s basketball team at Samford University, Mike is poised to serve Randolph Athletics. Under his guidance, the Samford team flourished, with Mike earning recognition as the "all-time winningest coach" and achieving a remarkable 100% graduation rate among his players.
Mike's vision for Randolph Athletics is rooted in our school's core values. He believes excellence in competition should be coupled with integrity, respect, and teamwork – values central to the Randolph experience. As he steps into his new role, Mike is eager to harness his extensive leadership and interpersonal skills to foster an environment where every student-athlete and coach can thrive.
When asked why he chose to pursue this opportunity, Mike said “Randolph is a special place, and in my short five years here I have grown to really appreciate and respect the people and the core values at Randolph. Our aim in the athletic department will be for all student-athletes and coaches to strive for excellence through competition by carrying out our Randolph core values in all we do. I truly value the relationships I have at Randolph and look forward to strengthening and building many more in my new role. I am grateful for this opportunity.”
