BOYS' BASKETBALL SEASON IN REVIEW

Boys' Basketball Season in Review

RANDOLPH ATHLETICS

Trey Hatfield | 3/1/2024

The 2023-2024 Randolph Raider Basketball season has come to a close. The season ended in a tough, hard-fought, sub-regional game against the Good Hope Indians.

Led by Area MVP Hunter Wiggins, the Raiders landed 4 players on the All-Area Team in route to an Area Championship win over Westminster Christian Academy. Garrett Trousdale, Roan Campbell, Will Waites, and Wiggins were All-Area performers. Wiggins led the Raiders with 11.8 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game. Trousdale averaged 2.5 assists per game, while Tyler DeOrio led all shooters with a 53.8% FG percentage. Hudson Cloud shot 39.1 % from the 3-point line.

Head Coach Trey Hatfield had this to say about this year’s team, “I could not be prouder of this team and how they competed all year. We set a goal of being area champions back in June and they worked all year to be able to accomplish it. We had a great set of seniors in Roan Campbell and Theo Reischauer that led us all season. Whether it was Grant Enfinger having 23 points and 15 rebounds in a win against Shoals Christian or Hudson Cloud making 5 threes and leading us in scoring versus Brewer, we had a bunch of people step up for us in several big moments throughout the year to make winning the area championship possible. I am incredibly excited about the future of this group with us returning 8 out of our 10 varsity players, our top 4 leading scorers, and a lot of young talent from this year's JV team.”

As Randolph looks to repeat as Area Champions next season, the future is bright for this young group of Raiders. With 8 returning varsity players and a talented JV roster, the Raiders expect to make a deep post-season run.
