Softball Earns Big Win in Home Opener

The Randolph Raiders Softball team kicked off their first home game with a dominating 16-1 victory over the visiting Woodville Panthers. The Raiders used an 11-run second inning to pull away early and seal the victory.

After a triple play ended the Panthers first inning, the Raiders took their turn in the batter’s box. The Raiders got on the board in the first inning after a wild pitch scored Sofie Bynum. Ryann Bulger doubled scoring one more run, and another wild pitch brought home two runs.

Eliza McCrary earned the win for the Raiders. McCrary gave up four hits and one run (zero earned) over three innings of work. She struck out three batter while only walking one.

Bulger led the Raiders at the plate going 2 for 3 with 2 doubles, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI. Sofie Bynum and Madison Moore each contributed 2 RBIs. Maddox Killingsworth and Hunter Ray each scored 2 runs.

The Raiders take the field next on Monday, March 18 at home against Decatur Heritage Christian Academy with a start time of 5:00pm.
