Baseball Picks up Opening Day Win

Ryan Martin drove in five runs on three hits to lead the Raiders past the Wilson Warriors by a score of 20-10 on Opening Day. Martin singled in both plate appearances in the fifth inning, scoring three runs, and two runs.

Wilson got on the board early with a 9-run first inning. The Raiders continued to chip away at the Warrior lead and eventually broke the game open with a 13-run fifth inning.

Martin pitched three and two-thirds innings in relief for the Raiders. Martin allowed three hits and two runs while striking out seven batters. Andrew Smith picked up his first career varsity win by going two innings with no runs allowed.

Martin and Bradford Hall led the Raiders at the plate. Hall had went two for three at the plated with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Jack Reeves also scored 3 runs. Zac MacFall added 3 RBIs on one hit.

The Raiders have a few more games to prepare before area play begins. The Raiders start area play with their series against Madison County.
