RANDOLPH RAIDERS SOCCER - SEASON PREVIEW

Randolph Raiders Soccer - Season Preview

RANDOLPH ATHLETICS

Cody Santos | 2/16/2024

As the soccer season begins, the Boys' Soccer program is determined to continue the tradition of success that has become the standard of Randolph Raider Soccer. With new leadership and a challenging season schedule, this season should be full of excitement and success.

The boys are led by Coach Cody Santos, his first year in the position. Having led the JV boys for the last 2 seasons, many of the current players have come with him to the Varsity level.

Coach Santos had this to say about the upcoming soccer season, “This upcoming season is one filled with change, challenges, and perseverance. We have put together one of the toughest schedules in the state and we plan on going toe to toe with every opponent.”

With the spine of our team graduating last year, we look to rebuild the backline, midfield, and attack. Led by Senior captains JJ Chung and Manav Aggarwal, the Raiders look to make another playoff push and achieve our goal of playing in a State Championship game. We return our dynamic midfielder and goal scorer, Tyler DeOrio, for his Junior season. Seniors Wesley Harvey, Jamie Matthews, and Luke Pitsinos all return with starting experience. Returning juniors George Duprés, Henry Green, and George Smith provide experience playing at the varsity level. Juniors Desmond Stearns, Addison Dubé, Tristan Morse, and Jack Servick are poised to make the leap from JV stars to Varsity starters. Freshmen Josh Valtos and Reid Werdehoff find themselves playing key roles in the defense and midfield as we continue our tradition of giving opportunities to our youth.

When asked about goals for this season, Coach Santos had this response, “We look to retain our Area title from last year and earn home field advantage into the playoffs. We are young, hungry, and have a strong determination and belief that we will continue the proud tradition of being one of the most successful soccer programs in the state. Go Raiders!”
