RANDOLPH ATHLETICS

Randolph Raiders Athletics Department Holiday Hoops Toy Drive!

Join us for an unforgettable evening of competition and giving on Monday, December 18, as the Randolph Raiders host our Holiday Hoops basketball games against the Boaz Pirates. In the spirit of the season, the Randolph Raiders Athletic Department will be sponsoring a Toy Drive with all donations going to New Futures INC.

Bring the joy of the season to a child by contributing a new, unopened toy for a child aged 4 months to 18 years. Simply bring your new, unopened toy to the game, and in return, enjoy free admission to watch the Randolph Raiders and Boaz Pirates go head-to-head.

If you are unable to attend the game but still want to contribute, drop off your new, unopened toy in the Athletics Office or the Upper School Office any time before Monday, December 18. Every donation counts! Let’s come together, show our support for the Randolph Raiders, and make this holiday season brighter for children across our community. Your generosity will make a lasting difference to those who need it most.

Thank you for being a part of the Randolph Raiders Athletic Department Holiday Hoops Toy Drive. Let’s make this a celebration a memorable one for everyone involved!

Indoor Track and Field Recap

The Randolph Indoor Track & Field team started their season this past Saturday, December 9th, at the Holiday Invitational at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, AL.

With 40 schools in attendance at the Holiday Invitational, our Raiders did a fantastic job pushing themselves to the finish line. The team is returning home to Huntsville with twenty personal records, six top-three medals, and one school record. We are very proud of our raiders and cannot wait for the next indoor meet in January.

Our Raiders will be back in action after the Christmas break on Thursday, January 4th, with our Junior Varsity team competing at the “Middle School Meet #2” at the Birmingham Crossplex. After that, the Varsity team will be back at the Crossplex for "Ice Breaker Meet #2” on Saturday, January 6th. Go Raiders!

Sofie Bynum Q & A

With all of the athletic opportunities at Randolph, what made you want to become a wrestler? Have you had experience with wrestling before, or was this your first year to try out?

This is my first season ever wrestling. I’ve always loved sports and wish to continue playing them throughout high school and into college if time allows. Team sports have always been more appealing to me, but I wanted to branch out and try a more individual sport this year.

How does it feel knowing your are the first female wrestler to secure a victory for our Raider Wrestling Program?

It feels great to have started the first of hopefully many more successes for the Girl’s Wrestling program here at Randolph.

What are you most looking forward to for the rest of the season?

I’m most looking forward to simply getting out on the mat more. Going to practice and tournaments with my team, and building a stronger bond with my coaches and teammates.

What goals have you set for yourself and your team for this wrestling season?

My main goal for myself and my team is to try our hardest and get out there. As Coach Stroe told me at the Huntsville Invitational “90% of the match is getting on the mat and trying your hardest.”

Wrestling Recap – Dungeon Duals

The Randolph Wrestling team participated in the Dungeon Duals at Arab High School this weekend.

Coach Stroe was happy with the effort and grit that his team showed. “The varsity boys faced some extremely tough competition and continue to wrestle with grit and toughness that we, as coaches, love to see. They continue to impress us with their no quit attitude. Although it didn’t go as well as we would have liked, they wrestled hard and continued to improve.”

For the JV invitational, AJ Goens placed 2nd in his weight class, going 2-1

Sofie Bynum continues to wrestle well and placed 4th in her weight class, going 2-2.
