In a historic moment for the Randolph Raiders Wrestling team, freshman wrestler Sofie Bynum became the first female wrestler to secure a victory for the Raiders' Wrestling program. Bynum's remarkable accomplishment took place at the 44th Annual Huntsville Invitational, where she not only competed with tenacity and skill but also earned a well-deserved third-place finish.

The Randolph Wrestling team participated in the 44th Annual Huntsville Invitational this weekend.

The boys, despite only competing with 7 wrestlers, finished 22nd out of 26 teams competing. Sofie Bynum finished in 3rd place for the girls team.

Head Coach Matt Stroe had the following to say about his team’s performance. “We had a long weekend of wrestling at the 44th Huntsville Invitational. There was great competition for our wrestlers, and all the wrestlers had their best matches to date. Sofie Bynum notched the first victory for the girls wrestling program. All the coaches were happy with the wrestling on both Friday and Saturday, and we are excited to see where these teams will go over the next few years. They are extremely motivated, talented, and have outstanding work ethics.”
