Area Preview

Westminster is the 3-time defending area champion, were state runners-up last year, and have a new head coach, Kendrick Epps. They lost several key players from last years team.

West Limestone is coached by Justin Taylor, who has taken them to 5 Elite 8s, 3 Final Fours and were 2015 State Champions. They return a few key players, but lost 3 seniors from last year.

JPII has a new coach, Hayden Hatfield. They return their entire team from last year. Had no seniors.

Coach Hatfield had this to say about the start to our season, "We have had a great start to the season against several tough teams from across North Alabama.” Hatfield also spoke about our upcoming area game, “We are looking forward to taking some momentum from winning a few close games into area play starting this week vs. Westminster. Some tight games have gotten us prepared for what should be a very competitive area, where any of the 4 teams can win on any given night. The area is going to come down to who wants it the most and who is willing to sacrifice the most to get the job done."
