The Randolph Raiders are excited to announce Michael Cagle as the new head softball coach for the upcoming season. Coach Cagle, a dedicated and experienced figure in the Randolph Athletics community, is set to bring a wealth of passion to the team.

Acting Director of Athletics Zac Barringer says, "I couldn't be more thrilled to welcome Coach Michael Cagle as our new softball head coach. Coach Cagle's unwavering commitment and loyalty to the program are evident to anyone who meets him. His extraordinary vision for both the short-term and long-term future of Randolph Softball is truly remarkable. What truly sets Coach Cagle apart is his deep love for our school, which shines through in all that he does. When we set out to find our next softball coach, we had two key qualities in mind: a passion for our school and a strong commitment to the program. Coach Cagle not only checks both of those boxes but exceeds them. We wholeheartedly believe in the vision Coach Cagle has for Randolph Softball, and we're excited to see his leadership on the field in the coming weeks as he prepares for the upcoming spring season. Welcome aboard, Coach Cagle!"

Coach Cagle's journey with Randolph Athletics dates back to 2006, and he has since been an integral part of many programs. Over the years, he has served in various roles to support the student-athletes at Randolph. Notably, he has made significant contributions to both the football and softball teams and has been the head bowling coach since 2015.

Cagle's experience and dedication to the softball program are especially noteworthy. As part of the varsity softball coaching staff, he played a pivotal role in leading the team to back-to-back regional appearances in 2015 and 2016.

In recognition of his passion for softball and the sport's broader community, Coach Cagle was inducted as a member of the 2007 Dixie Softball Hall of Fame class, where he was celebrated for his contributions as an umpire. This honor is evident for his deep connection to sport and his dedication to its growth and development.

Asked why he chose to pursue this coaching job, Coach Cagle said, “I pursued the softball job after being part of the program for many year. I know what these young ladies are capable of doing. I have seen the work ethic they have displayed in the face of adversity. These girls are capable of doing special things here at Randolph.”

When asked to explain his coaching style and how it would feel being coached by him, Cagle said, “The girls will know I care. They will know that I am going to be in their corner and support them in every situation they walk through. We will adjust our practice style and get back to the basics. We will get a lot of repetition on making sure we are developing the correct form of how to throw, catch, and hit.”

When asked to define what success would look like, Coach Cagle proudly stated, “Knowing the girls have learned what we are going to teach them and that they enjoyed being a part of our program is what I am striving for. Wins and losses do not determine success, but when you focus on the good, the good gets better. We will work to create good habits and allow the wins to take care of themselves.”

Coach Cagle is a computer technician for BIZFORCE Technologies where he helps provide managed services for doctors, dentists, lawyers, and several businesses across North Alabama and Southern Tennessee.

The Randolph Raiders are confident that Coach Michael Cagle's unwavering commitment to the softball program will help lead the team to new heights in the upcoming seasons. His dedication to the athletes, the sport, and the overall mission of Randolph School makes him the ideal choice to take the reins as head softball coach.

The Raiders eagerly look forward to the future of the softball program under his guidance and leadership.
