Girls’ Tennis
Girls’ Tennis Head Coach David Garrison shared his thoughts on this year’s squad, saying, “This is a great group of hard-working young women. We have high hopes for a fourth straight section title and a trip to the state tournament.”
The Raiders enter the season as defending section champions for the third consecutive year, a standard that has come to define the program. With a veteran roster and strong leadership, the Raiders are the odds-on favorites to claim another section title and make a deep run at the state tournament.
Leading the way is senior Lova Stenberg, who will be defending her singles state championship. Returning varsity players Micaela Bedoya-Ruig, Erin Cook, Avery Skinner, and Valentina Bedoya-Ruig bring valuable experience and depth to an already talented lineup.
Savannah Cram will be a key addition to the varsity lineup this season, bringing a solid all-around game and showing steady improvement each day. Chloe Pettway is also expected to play a major role, as she brings a high tennis IQ and consistent play that will be vital to the team’s success.
The Section Tournament will be held April 13–15 at the Huntsville Tennis Center. The Raiders will open tournament play this Friday, February 6 and Saturday, February 7 at Muscle Shoals in the Trojan Classic.

The Raiders feature seven seniors on an eight-man team and enter the season as the defending section champions. With experience and depth throughout the lineup, the Raiders are the favorites to repeat as section champions and qualify for the state tournament. The team’s ultimate goal is to capture the 4A-5A State Championship in April.

Coach Garrison reflected on their journey, saying, “State title or not this year, I am extremely proud of the effort these young men have put into improving their tennis games in pursuit of a team state championship.”
Colton Boyce joins the team this season, adding even more experience and depth to an already impressive roster.
