As we kick off the 2024-2025 athletics season here at Randolph, we reflect on the memories left behind from last year. The Raiders have provided us with unforgettable moments that will be etched into our school's proud athletic history. Randolph’s coaches have voted on the most outstanding athletic achievements from last year. From last-minute comebacks to record-breaking accolades to trophy-hoisting triumphs, here are the Top 10 Randolph Athletic Moments, counting down from the honorable mentions to the very best.


Honorable Mentions: 

Evan Shields earns All-State Honors while setting the 3rd All-Time School record of 16:12 at the AHSAA 6A State Cross Country Championships.


Boys Tennis wins Sectional Tournament to advance to the AHSAA State Tournament for the first time since 2019.

In overtime against Muscle Shoals, Addison Dubé nets the game winning goal for the boys Soccer Team to secure the Area 15 Championship.

In the 2nd game of the softball season, the Lady Raiders turned a rare Triple Play and secured the win against Woodville 16-1.

At the AHSAA State Swim & Dive Meet, Judd Lunsford broke two school records: 100 Backstroke and 200 Individual Medley

Lova Stenberg (#1 Singles) took on the top ranked player at the 4A-5A Sectional Tournament. She won in 3 sets to help the Girls Tennis Team become Sectional Champions and advance to the AHSAA State Tournament.

The Boys Cross Country team entered the 6A Section 6 Championship as the underdogs. The Raiders defeated the favorite, JP2, by 1 point to become Section Champions and advance to the AHSAA State Meet.

The Boys Basketball Team entered the Area Tournament as the #2 seed. They defeated West Limestone in the Semi-Finals and Westminster Christian in the Championship game to secure their first Area Championship since 2011.

After a year without a program, Raider Wrestling returned. In their return, Sofie Bynum became the first Girls Wrestler in the history of the school. Sofie had great success in year 1, eventually making it to the AHSAA State Meet.

Ashlyn Hafley finished her 6 year career as a Varsity Girls Basketball player at Randolph as the school's All-Time Career Rebounding leader with 743 career boards. She went on to sign with Millsaps College.

The Girls Soccer Team was trailing in the final minutes against area opponent Athens with playoff implications on the line. Senior Kelis Massey puts her 2nd goal in the corner of the net to secure the Area 15 Championship.

After winning the 5A State Championship in the season prior, the Boys Golf Team looked to repeat. Despite an injury to one of their top players, the Raiders secured their Back to Back State Championship run winning by a single stroke.
