Valtos Claims State Title as Randolph Wraps Up Indoor Season

The Randolph Indoor Track & Field team wrapped up an exciting season with a strong showing at the AHSAA 4A-5A State Championships on January 31st. Competing against over 30 schools, the Raiders put forth impressive performances, breaking records, achieving personal bests, and earning podium finishes.


Girls 800 Meters – State Champion
Senior Katelyn Valtos delivered a dominant performance in the 800 meters, winning the state title with a time of 2:21.85. She came just shy of her own school record but secured the gold and 10 points for the team. She is only the 2nd female in Randolph School History to win an individual Indoor State Championship!

Girls Triple Jump – New School Record
Emily Creekmore (Senior) had a remarkable showing, setting a new school record with a jump of 34-9. Her effort earned her a 3rd place finish and 6 team points.

60 Meter Hurdles – Personal Best
Emerson Brinkmeier (Senior) made the finals and set a new personal best of 9.58, finishing 5th overall and contributing 4 points to the team.

Additional Highlights

Girls Long Jump: Emily Creekmore placed 4th (16-02), earning 5 points.

Girls 1600 Meters: Anna Ragsdale finished 9th (5:41.80).

Girls 3200 Meters: Anna Ragsdale secured a PR (12:25.17) and placed 12th.

Boys 4x800 Relay: Wick Pfitzer, Andrew Walker, Landon Lee, and Jasper Howse ran a PR of 9:15.14, finishing 12th.
