The Randolph Indoor Track & Field team wrapped up their regular season in impressive fashion with two back-to-back meets at the Birmingham Crossplex. On Friday, January 24th, Emerson Brinkmeier competed in her first-ever Pentathlon at the Last Chance Pentathlon meet. She showcased her versatility across five events, highlighted by a personal record (PR) in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.86. Emerson also achieved PRs in the High Jump (4-02) and Shot Put (22-01) while delivering a strong performance in the Long Jump (14-05).
The momentum carried into Saturday, January 25th, as the rest of the team joined for the Last Chance Meet #2. With over 70 schools in attendance, the Raiders set their sights high and delivered spectacular results. The team achieved 13 personal records and set a new school record in the Girls 4x200 Meter Relay. The relay team of Katelyn Valtos, Emerson Brinkmeier, Mia Shah, and Emily Creekmore clocked a time of 1:53.39, finishing 12th overall.
Other notable performances included:
Anna Ragsdale: PRs in both the 1600 Meters (5:35.82) and 3200 Meters (12:27.45), finishing 11th and 7th, respectively.
Katelyn Valtos: PR in the 400 Meters with a time of 1:01.14, placing 7th.
Andrew Walker: PRs in the 1600 Meters (4:56.26) and 800 Meters (2:23.54).
Julia Jennings: PR in the 800 Meters with a time of 2:45.67.
The focus now shifts to the AHSAA 4A-5A State Meet on Friday, January 31st, where the team eagerly awaits the official announcement of qualifiers.
