As the winter season approaches, excitement is building for the Randolph Raiders Indoor Track & Field team. With a mix of experienced athletes and promising newcomers, the team is poised for a strong showing. Led by Coach Huff, returning for her third season, and supported by an enthusiastic coaching staff, the Raiders are preparing to bring their best to every meet.
Three standout seniors return to lead the charge this year:
Emily Creekmore – A top performer in the Triple Jump last season, Emily is eager to break her own school record again this year.
Emerson Brinkmeier – Known for her speed in the 60 meters and 60-meter hurdles, Emerson will play a key role in the team’s scoring.
Katelyn Valtos – Specializing in the 800 meters, Katelyn is setting her sights on dominating both the 800 and 400 meters this season.
These seniors bring valuable experience, drive, and leadership, setting the tone for the team’s success.
The Raiders are also excited to welcome a small but talented group of underclassmen and first-time athletes. "These young athletes bring a whole new energy this year. I look forward to seeing what they have in store," says Coach Huff. Their enthusiasm and potential add depth to the roster and promise a bright future for the program.
Coach Huff and her staff have focused on conditioning, speed drills, and refining technique, and the athletes have responded with enthusiasm. “We have a strong group this year who are working hard every day,” says Coach Huff. “Our goal is not only to compete but to improve each meet and achieve personal records.”
The team’s goals are clear: set personal bests, finish strong in each meet, and qualify for the state championships. With their combination of talent and determination, the Randolph Raiders Indoor Track & Field team is ready to make this season memorable.
Mark your calendars to support the Raiders as they kick off their season at the Birmingham Crossplex on Saturday, December 7th, at the Magic City Invitational #2. It’s sure to be an exciting season, and the team looks forward to fans cheering them on from the stands!
