As the temperature begins to drop, the excitement in the air couldn't be higher for the Randolph Raiders Volleyball Team. With the area tournament just around the corner, the team is gearing up for a showdown against the North Jackson Chiefs on Tuesday, October 17, at 3:00 PM. The Class 4A Area 16 Tournament is being held at DAR High School in Grant, Alabama.

With a season of hard work, dedication, and countless hours of practice behind them, Head Volleyball Coach Bri Turner had some time to reflect on the regular season. “This season these girls overcame a lot. Starting the season with a smaller roster is not easy, but they managed to push through each game and give it their all regardless of the outcome. They have shown grit and resilience this whole season. Maggi Peyton and Erin Ghaleb have been a huge part of both offense and defense this season. They have shown their versatility and played many different positions in multiple games. We struggled running our middles at the beginning of the season, but Scarlett James and Cara DeJesus have become a huge part of our offense now.”

The road to the Area Tournament title is never easy, but the Randolph Raiders are ready to embrace the challenge. Coach Turner had this to say about the challenges her team will face in the Class 4A Area 16 tournament, “Starting the Area Tournament, we face off against North Jackson. They are a great hustle team, but if we stick to our game plan it should be a good game. A win against North Jackson will have us facing off against the #1 seed DAR.”

Join us on Tuesday, October 17, at 3:00 PM at DAR High School as the Randolph Raiders (5-12, 1-2) face the North Jackson Chiefs (6-12, 0-3) in what promises to be an incredible game. Let's show our support and fill the stands at DAR. Go Raiders!
