Zac Barringer

Coach Barringer has most recently served as an assistant to head coach Monica Maxwell of the James Clemens Girls’ Basketball program. The Jets accomplished one of their winningest seasons in school history. Barringer has coached for over ten years at schools from 2A to 7A.

Coach Barringer had the following to say regarding this opportunity, “I am thankful, humbled, and blessed to be able to help lead this program. It has felt like Christmas morning every day since I found out I was getting to take over. Randolph is one of the most elite schools in North Alabama. The facilities and community alone make it so special and unique. With over 50 AHSAA State Championships won throughout the athletic programs, I am excited to join the school and build towards that same level of excellence.”

Barringer served as the junior high head coach and varsity assistant at DAR High School (2014-2017) before becoming the head boys’ basketball coach at North Jackson High School (2017-2020). He won the Area Championship twice, reached the Sweet 16 in 2018, and became the second-winningest coach in school history. Zac spent a year as the boys’ varsity assistant coach at Hazel Green High School (2020-2021), where they won their first Area Championship in 13 years, before deciding to pursue coaching on the girls’ side and joining last year’s James Clemens staff.

Barringer graduated from Pisgah High School and went on to earn a degree in Secondary Math Education and a Masters in Sports Management from Jacksonville State. He also holds a EdS degree in Leadership from the University of North Alabama.

This is Coach Barringer's second season at the helm of the Randolph Girls Basketball Program.
